Every time the Olympic Games come around, gamers get another licensed Olympics video game. Unfortunately, most of them have been terrible. Is the London 2012 any different?
According to reviews, the answer is yes. PlanetXbox360.com calls it “a welcome surprise,” especially compared to the 2008 Olympics video game. Both IGN and GameSpot praise the multiplayer sports and motion controls.
London 2012 offers nearly 40 Olympic events for both solo and multiplayer gaming, including swimming, track & field, volleyball, table tennis, diving, and gymnastics. The game is available for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and offers motion control for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. If you get tired of playing solo, you can compete against up three friends offline and seven online.
If you need more Olympics in your life after the closing ceremonies this Sunday, buy the London 2012 Xbox 360 or PS3 version for $50, or download it to your PC for $36.
