New Ludacris LP ‘Ludaversal’ Coming in November
Ludacris will release his ninth studio album, Ludaversal, in November—the first music project he’s released since Battle of the Sexes in 2010.
During a recent interview with Billboard, the southern rapper said that the album will shed light on some of his most personal moments from recent years: “I can definitely tell you in a nutshell there are a bunch of songs that define moments and are very emotional just for the simple fact this will be my most personal album to date in terms of talking about a lot of things that have gone on in my life and just really diving into who Chris Bridges is as a person.”
Ludacris named “Money” and “Burning Bridges” as among the most personal songs on the album. “Money” deals with the ups and downs of wealth, and “Burning Bridges” addresses the difficulties that come with success and the friends that fall away on the way up. “It’s inevitable you’re going to have to sacrifice certain relationships just because when you get all this success, people think you’re the one changing, but they’re the ones that changed based on your success,” he explained.
Ludacris is also working on a documentary about Atlanta that will premiere on VH1 in September. “[It’s] about Atlanta and about the South and about the rise of Atlanta in hip-hop, from the beginning stages to where we are now,” Luda told Billboard. “I’m one of the producers on it… and I’ll be on camera as well.”
