Master the Euro Step
If you’re struggling to get separation on drives to the basket, work some new moves into your offensive arsenal. The Euro Step is a great way to get to the rim. Here’s how to do it, courtesy of standout New York Knicks rookie Iman Shumpert.
What it is: A move used to fake out defenders, similar to a jump stop.
How to Do it: Set up a cone or dummy defender near the right side of the rim.
Attack toward the rim hard, moving your inside shoulder and the ball outside as you take a step with your right foot. In a real game, this should draw a defender outside.
Once the defender commits, throw your outside shoulder toward the inside and take a step with your left foot.
Finish at the rim. Repeat for desired reps on both sides.
