Meet Jack Miller, the 14-Year-Old Freshman Quarterback Who Just Received an Offer From Ohio State
If you’re a high school football player, there are few more prestigious honors than receiving an offer from Ohio State.
The program routinely competes for national championships and consistently pumps out high-caliber NFL talent. If you receive an offer from OSU, you’re likely one of the best players in the country.
Jack Miller, a quarterback from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, fits the bill. What makes him different from other OSU recruits? He’s only 14 years old.

Miller, who recently transferred to Chaparral after his freshman season at Scottsdale Christian Academy, has already displayed enough potential to earn an offer from Urban Meyer. Adam Gorney, a Rivals.com national recruiting analyst, broke down what makes Miller such an enticing prospect:
“Miller has perfect size at 6-foot-3 and 203 pounds and he loves to sit in the pocket and zip passes all over the field. What makes him special is that he throws an outstanding and precise deep ball time and time again. What also is great about Miller, especially for a freshman, is his ability to feel pressure, get away from it but not rush and then deliver accurate passes all over the place. His arm strength is without question, and he has great vision to find receivers as they break open. Arizona, Arizona State and Florida State are the biggest offers so far, but he’ll almost definitely be a national recruit soon.”
At an Ole Miss camp last summer, Miller was one of the few prospects in attendance capable of throwing the ball both 50+ mph and 50+ yards. That’s ridiculous arm strength for a kid his age. For comparison, DeShaun Watson’s throwing velocity was clocked at 49 mph during the 2017 NFL Combine.
Miller is close friends with Tim Tebow, whom he met through a family acquaintance. Tebow has been mentoring Miller, and the two reportedly talk almost every day. Miller’s stat line from his freshman season is ridiculous—3,653 passing yards, 53 touchdowns and 831 rushing yards. Thomas Lewis, the head coach at Chaparral, told AZCentral.com that Miller throws “the best deep ball I’ve ever seen in my life.” That’s high praise coming from Lewis, who played four seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver.
