Michael Vick Reveals Who Would’ve Won a Race Between Him and Randall Cunningham
Mike Vick and Randall Cunningham are two of the most electric dual-threat quarterbacks in NFL history.
Over his 13-season career, Vick tallied 6,109 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns. Perhaps his best year in terms of rushing numbers came in 2006 with the Atlanta Falcons when he ran for 1,039 yards and averaged 7.7 yards per carry.
Cunningham’s career rushing totals don’t quite match-up with Vick’s, but the guy could fly. During his 1990 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cunningham ran for 942 rushing yards and averaged 7.4 yards per carry.
If you matched up these two explosive playmakers in a 40-Yard Dash during their primes, who would come out on top? That was the question poised on the NFL’s official Instagram account earlier today:
[instagram src=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BQ5aZrfjRgm/”]It’s a tough question. Vick ran a 4.33 at his Pro Day. Anyone who played with Vick in Madden 2004 knows how deadly a weapon his speed could be (Vick had a speed rating of 95 in the game). Last summer, he publicly stated he could still beat Cam Newton in a 40-Yard Dash.
Cunningham told Sports Illustrated that he once ran a 4.29 40-Yard Dash on a rubber track in high school. To anyone who watched him play, that number doesn’t sound far-fetched.
Vick actually weighed in on the question by commenting from his official Instagram account: “Haha this is a good one. RC had great inline speed. I’ll say me in the 40 but Randall in the 100!” Vick wrote.
