You've seen Mike Trout's crazy over-the-wall, home run-stealing catches. Now he's showing off where his vertical prowess originates. The Los Angeles Angels centerfielder posted the below video on Instagram, showing him completing an epic, shoulder-height Box Jump. Trout stands 6'2", which makes this a pretty impressive feat!
Basketball players are traditionally known for having the greatest ups (see Dwyane Wade's 42-inch Box Jump), but baseball players like Trout and football players like Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing prove that athletes in all sports have explosive lower-body power.
After seeing Trout's video, it's hard to say who has the best hops. One thing we do know is that Trout will continue to patrol center field for the Angels, who open the season March 31 against the Seattle Mariners; and he will surely make more highlight-worthy catches in 2014.
