Minkah Fitzpatrick’s High School Coach Shares an Awesome Anecdote About His Work Ethic

It’s what made him a two-time All-American at the University of Alabama and why the Miami Dolphins felt confident selecting him with the 11th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Fitzpatrick’s legacy at St. Peter’s Prep (Jersey City, New Jersey) is tied to the legendary work ethic he displayed during his time there. The coaching staff still uses his name whenever a player seems to be lacking the desire to be great.
“When you tell (a player) they need to ‘Fitzpatrickize’ themselves, you’re questioning their conviction to what we’re doing. Because there was never, ever a question of his conviction,” St. Peter’s Prep head football coach Rich Hansen explains in the below video. “He’s such a unique person and a unique player.”
Hansen goes on to tell an amazing story about how Fitzpatrick chose to spend the morning after St. Peter’s won the 2014 state championship game:
A few months after that, Fitzpatrick shared a video of himself performing footwork drills in the heavy snow. Nothing is going to stop this guy from getting his work in, a fact that should make Dolphins fans very happy with their first-round pick.
