MLB 13: The Show

A lot of information dropped over the past week, so let's jump right in! First, slightly disappointing, but not altogether unexpected, news came down regarding MLB 13: The Show. Second, Rayman Legends hit a road block. And last, Sony dated their return to form.

No Cross-Buy For MLB 13: The Show

Although there was only a sliver of hope from the outset, fans were still holding out for the chance that MLB 13 would be available for purchase via the cross-buy program. PlayStation squashed that hope in a statement late last week. This means gamers will need to purchase the game for each device they want to play it on. Buying it on PlayStation will not give you access on Vita.

Like its predecessor, MLB 13 will feature the cross-play functionality, so you will be able to take your season from device to device, assuming, of course, you have purchased the game on each device. Retailers like Amazon are offering deals for gamers who want to purchase a copy for different consoles.

Rayman Legends Release Date Pushed Back

This is a good-news/bad-news situation. There isn't much of an upside for Wii U gamers, but Ubisoft has offered them a small consolation prize. The upcoming Rayman Legends, a sequel to Rayman Origins, was initially slated to be a Wii U exclusive and to hit shelves later this month. But due to the console's disappointing sales figures, the game is being slated for a September release to allow the developer time to adapt the game for play on Xbox 360 and PS3. To pacify gamers who purchased the Nintendo console, Ubisoft will release another demo exclusively for the U at some point in the near future.

Sony to Make Announcement on Feb. 20

Sony is expected to make a Feb. 20 announcement regarding their Next-Gen PlayStation. Examiner has posted pictures showing the console with a number of optional controllers—one of which includes an onboard touchpad. There is speculation that the long-awaited machine will come with a hefty pricetag of over $400. Sony was adamant about not releasing their new console until after Microsoft unveiled the new Xbox. But with the tease that promises to divulge the "future" of the PlayStation, will fans be satisfied with anything less? Talk around the gaming world also implies that we could be looking at KillZone 4 and Little Big Planet 3 as PS4 exclusives. Let the countdown begin.
