Myles Garrett Just Had One of the Most Ridiculous NFL Combine Performances Ever
Earlier today, we brought you video of Myles Garrett, the presumptive no. 1 pick of the upcoming NFL Draft, hitting 33 reps of 225 pounds on the Bench Press at the 2017 NFL Combine, the second highest of any defensive lineman. It’s impressive to watch, and that’s probably the least crazy thing he did all day.
The rest of Garrett’s performance at the Combine on Sunday was an exercise in athletic excellence. It began when Garrett, who clocks in at just over 6-foot-4 and 272 pounds, ran a blazing 4.64 40 Yard Dash.
WOW.
Myles Garrett (@AggieFootball – @MikeMayock‘s #1 Edge Rusher) runs 4.64u 40-yard dash! #NFLCombine https://t.co/AJuB9M4P7O

Though some had hyped Garrett up to run a 4.5, which would have been particularly outlandish, a 4.64 is still incredibly impressive for a man of Garrett’s size. Even more important is that fact that Garrett’s 10-yard split was 1.63 seconds, third best of his group and a better predictor of his explosion off the line. Garrett’s athleticism only got more outrageous from there.
We repeat:
Myles. Garrett. FREAK.
10’8″ Broad Jump! #NFLCombine pic.twitter.com/6ystkCVCpQ

Garrett proceeded to hit 10’8″ in the broad jump, and in the slow motion video above, it looks like he’s floating through the air like some sort of superhero. But Garrett wasn’t done wowing people just yet.
So Myles Garrett just posted a vertical leap of 41 inches. Come. On. pic.twitter.com/6GaBpI54KM

Garrett finished the day by jumping 41 inches in the vertical leap. For reference, the highest vertical at the 2016 NBA Combine, where dudes jump for a living, was just 36.5 inches. You could line up Garrett at power forward in the NBA right now.
In summation: Garrett ran a 4.64 40, hit 33 reps of 225 on the Bench Press, posted a broad jump of 10’8″ and hit a vertical leap of 41 inches. Whew.
