Kobe Bryant. LeBron James. Kevin Durant. Kyrie Irving . . . .and Paul George? It appears that the Indiana Pacers star will become the lastest athlete to get his own signature shoe from Nike, joining a select group that includes two 2016 NBA champions, a soon-to-be Hall of Famer and the biggest free agent acquisition of the summer.
Images of what's being called the PG 1 surfaced over the weekend via the website Sneaker Files. It's a low top that features a strap across the midfoot, George's logo (a combination of the letter "P" and the number 3) etched into the tongue and what looks to be Flyknit across the upper. Sneaker Files reports that the shoe will debut in March of 2017 and will retail for $110.
If there is any athlete who deserves his own pair of kicks, it's George. After suffering a horrific leg injury two seasons ago during an exhibition game for Team USA, George returned to have the best season of his career last year, averaging 23.1 points and seven rebounds per game. We're looking forward to George debuting his kicks on court for the first time next year.
