New Era Unveils Limited-Edition Diamond Era Caps for the All-Star Game
For the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star game on July 15 in Minneapolis, New Era is releasing limited-edition Diamond Era Caps, which are part of their All-Star Game Collection and are inspired by the Minnesota Twins’ batting helmet design from the 1970s.
“We wanted to highlight the game’s illustrious past with a retro design concept but with the modern twist of utilizing performance fabric,” said New Era CEO Christopher H. Koch.
All-Stars have historically worn special versions of their respective teams’ hats (with an All-Star patch on the side), but this marks the first time the caps have been specifically designed for the All-Star event, with the players wearing the same template. Players will still wear their individual team uniforms.
The Twins haven’t hosted an All-Star game for 30 years. Commemorating the 70s style, the hats feature each team’s primary colors with their logo on a triangular cutout on the front panel.
The cap is made of an ultra-lightweight performance material, Diamond Era ®, which is sweat-wicking to keep the wearer cool and dry. The fabric also has SOLERA technology—with 50+ UPF UV protection that helps deflect the sun.
If you want one of these historic hats, you need to move fast. The limited-edition Diamond Era Caps will only be available for a short period of time at NewEraCap.com, MLB.com/shop, and at Lids, New Era retail locations and other sporting goods stores.
