New Trailer Released for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’
Marvel has released the second trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Check it out below.
Just a few months are left before the sequel to 2012’s mega blockbuster lands in theaters. Anticipation is running high and the new clip does little to quiet the fervor. Ultron, voiced by James Spader, has reached the same conclusion that almost all manmade AI (at least in the movies, anyway) eventually realize: the world would be much better off without humans.
“Everyone creates the thing they dread,” says Ultron ominously, reminding viewers that his existence was brought about by Tony Stark as a part of a program meant to assure world peace and lighten the workload for the Avengers. Clearly, the plan backfired.
Stark pays a steep price for the error. Iron Man takes his share of beatings in the film. The clip shows him arguing with Thor (Chris Hemsworth), being thrown aside by Ultron and going toe-to-toe with Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), who may be under the influence of newcomer Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). The fight even brings Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) out of hiding.
A mysterious woman appears midway through the trailer. She may link back to the African nation of Wakanda, home to Black Panther and the extremely durable metal vibranium, which is used in Captain America’s shield.
It looks like we’ll delve into Black Widow’s backstory as well. There’s a quick glimpse of Scarlett Johansson’s character in Russia before she started rocking her signature curly bob. She appears to be linked to Andy Serkis’s still unidentified character, who according to reports is destined to become Ulysses Klaw, a villain who finds himself at odds with Black Panther.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will premiere on May 1.
