New York Giants Release 2016 Schedule Without Using the Name ‘Redskins’
When the New York Giants released their 2016 schedule on Thursday, they conspicuously left off the word “Redskins” among other NFL teams.
The Giants organization was presumably being politically correct. The Washington team’s nickname has produced a storm of controversy for its alleged racial undertones. Or perhaps the Giants were just slighting their NFC East rival.
Maybe both.
But within 40 minutes, the Giants re-released their schedule with the name “Redskins” on it.
The 2016 #Giants schedule is here! 150 DAYS until Big Blue takes on the Cowboys!
