STACK's NFL All-Undrafted Team: Offense
Only one active player from the San Diego Chargers’ 2003 rookie class remains on the team’s current roster, and it’s not first-round pick Sammy Davis or second rounder Drayton Florence.
That lone player was an undrafted free agent and former college basketball player from Kent State University. Now, nearly 10 years after signing a two-year rookie deal with the Chargers worth $537,000, Antonio Gates is one of the premier tight ends in the NFL, having appeared in eight consecutive Pro Bowls and been named All-Pro five time as a member of the Chargers (watch Gates’s unusual path to the pros below).
Gates isn’t the only undrafted player to have overcome the odds of making, and succeeding in, the NFL. Here, we honor those once unheralded prospects with our first-ever All-NFL Undrafted Team, starting with the best on offense.
