Cornerbacks Beware: Massive WR Prospect D.K. Metcalf Is 228 Pounds With 1.6% Body Fat
If there was ever a prospect to pass the eye test, it’s D.K. Metcalf.
The wide receiver out of Ole Miss totaled 569 yards in seven games last season, but it’s his superhuman physical traits which have NFL personnel most intrigued.
During measurements at the 2019 NFL Combine, Metcalf came in at an impressive 6-foot-3, 228 pounds. But the most absurd detail was his absurdly low body-fat percentage:

What does 6-foot-3, 228 pounds with 1.6% body fat look like? This:

This about to bigger than Odell and Jarvis Landry when they entered the draft . Two potential 1st round draft picks from the same school. @nfl I hope you’re ready . @olemissfb @exossports pic.twitter.com/UBEJDjZBNy

There’s some margin for error with body-fat testing, so in reality, it’s probably closer to 4-5% than it is 1.6%, but it’s still wildly impressive.
Metcalf’s wingspan also came in at an astonishing 82 7/8 inches. Based on the current data available, it’s the largest wingspan on record for a receiver at the Combine. Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden told reporters that he recently interview Metcalf and couldn’t help but marvel at his build. “He’s the biggest wideout I’ve ever seen. Who’s gonna tackle him?,” Gruden said.
However, Metcalf’s extremely low body-fat percentage could be hazardous over the long-term. It’s likely that he was on a very strict diet and training regimen entering the event, so the number will likely raise in coming weeks, but it’s certainly worth noting that there is a point where your body-fat percentage can be too low.
