Ben Stiller is back with Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, the third installment of his hit comedy film series about a museum security guard for whom exhibits come to life. Stiller is joined by a bevy of major stars, including Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Owen Wilson and Sir Ben Kingsley. Other exciting additions to the cast are Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids) as a night security guard and Dan Stevens (The Fifth Estate).
The new film is set in the British Museum in London instead of the Smithsonian. Williams, Gervais and Wilson reprise their memorable roles from the previous movies, but Kingsley will be play a new character, described as an Egyptian pharaoh who comes back to life via a magic tablet.
Shawn Levy is back to direct the film. In addition to directing the first two hugely successful Night at the Museum pics, Levy has also worked on 2010’s Date Night and the star-studded This is Where I Leave you, due out in September.
Fans will be glad to know that the screenplay for this installment was written by Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, the same writers who penned the previous two films in the series.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb will hit theaters nationwide Dec. 19, 2014.
