Fresh off the block is a highlight video featuring Nike’s 7On Tournament 2010 from Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., July 8 and 9.
Eight teams repping five states featured all-star casts of five- and four-star recruits, including seven ESPNU 150 prospects from the class of 2011. Flag football can’t touch this.
Participating teams included three from Florida schools—Miami Northwestern Senior H.S., H B Plant H.S. (Tampa) and Dr. Phillips H.S. (Orlando); two from Texas—Martin H.S. (Arlington) and Guyer H.S. (Denton); Gardena H.S. (Gardena, Calif.); Glenville H.S. (Cleveland); and David W. Butler H.S. (Matthews, N.C.)
Also joining in the competition were Nike’s NFL top guns DeSean Jackson, Ndamukong Suh, Troy Polamalu (and many others), who served as honorary sideline coaches to the teams. Little known fun fact: as a senior at Long Beach Poly H.S., Jackson was the 2004 Nike 7On Tournament MVP.
Consecutive 100-degree days didn’t slow the speed or stifle the skill of the wealth of talent on display at Ronaldo Fields. The championship match pitted defending 7On champion Miami Northwestern against Guyer.
