The Nike Air Current—a classic lightweight running shoe from the 90s—has been rereleased. The current version features a synthetic suede and stretch textile upper and an elastic midfoot strap for comfort and fit. A full-length Phylon midsole with air bag unit technology in the heel helps support the feet with impact protection.
With its shape, durasheen covering and barefoot runner feel, the new Air Current appears to be a close relative of the Nike Air Flow. The trifecta of simplicity, support and style makes the AC a serious shoe for serious runners.
These stylish kicks come in a variety of colors, from bright to subtle. The model pictured above presents a lean, hungry black foundation with bright yellow volts that evoke top end speed.
Head to Eastbay to pick up the new Air Current. Prices start at $109.99. If you like Nike runners but aren’t convinced the current AC is right for you, watch for more additions to the AC line in the coming weeks.
