Nike Basketball Drops 2015 NYC All-Star Collection
The 2015 NBA All-Star Game hits, as Jay-Z once said, the concrete jungle that is New York City. Inevitably, Nike Basketball is there to celebrate the Big Apple’s rich basketball history with its footwear.
Today, Nike unveiled its NYC All-Star collection, featuring the KYRIE 1, LeBron 12, KD 7 and the brand new Kobe X. The design of each pair of kicks was inspired by examples of iconic architecture from each of the five boroughs.
The Kobe X features a black upper with a metallic swoosh and tongue. The outsole shows off a mixture of volt and orange colors, taken from the Unisphere that symbolized the 1964 World’s Fair.
The KD 7 sports a silver upper, a red strap and a faint blue coloring lining the outsole. It represents the Brooklyn Bridge.
The KYRIE 1, inspired by NYC’s City Hall subway station, also sports a silver upper, with a black swoosh and an icy blue front sole.
Finally, the LeBron 12 represents the Flatiron Building in midtown Manhattan, presenting a white upper offset by greens, silvers and blues throughout. Check out the video player above for more detailed photos of each shoe.
THe Kobe X and KD 7 will be available Feb. 13. The KYRIE 1 and LeBron 12 drop Feb. 14.
