Combining the silhouette of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe with design elements inspired by skateboarding culture, Nike has unveiled the Air Jordan 1 “SB.”
Designed by artist Craig Stecyk, whose history is rooted deep in skateboarding, the sneaker features a green and black upper that looks like it’s been spray-painted on, reminiscent of a recent piece by Stecyk entitled, “Northwest Passages.” The words “AJ One SB” are inscribed on the heel.
The sneaker will be released in limited quantities at select Nike SB retailers and on nike.com beginning March 15.
