Nike to Release College Football-Inspired Trainers So You Can ‘Roll Tide’ While You Work Out
Nike will release a series of college football-inspired Lunar TR1s on Aug. 27, one day before the official start of the college football season. As if college football superfans didn’t do enough to show off their team pride, the “Week Zero” collection will include shoes featuring the colors and logos of eight powerhouse college football programs—Texas, Michigan State, Oregon, Florida State, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Oklahoma.
The coolest things about the new team-inspired sneakers are the subtle nods to program traditions, like the inclusion of buckeye leaves on the Ohio State model. According to Nike, the Lunar TR1 is “a shoe for the next generation of world-class athletes,” so you can get active while supporting your favorite team instead of just showing them to your friends at the tailgate party.
The Nike Lunar TR1 Week Zero collection will be available on nike.com, and a pair will set you back $120.
