Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 10 Is the Most Versatile Basketball Shoe Available
When you’re LeBron James, one line of shoes is simply not enough. And while his top line of signature sneakers will release its 14th generation in January with the aptly named Nike LeBron 14, his secondary line of kicks have stolen the headlines since the summer.

Worn by LeBron when he brought the Cleveland Cavaliers back from a 3-1 deficit in the 2016 NBA Finals, the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 10 has remained the Akron, Ohio, native’s footwear of choice throughout the 2016-2017 NBA season—and for good reason. The 10th iteration of LeBron’s Soldier line is by far the best, both in design and functionality. It sits higher above the ankle for better support, features Nike’s Zoom cushioning, and, craziest of all, features absolutely no lacing. Instead are three velcro straps that allow the wearer full control over the tightness of the shoe’s fit.
It’s fair to be skeptical about hooping in a shoe held together by velcro, but the Zoom Soldier 10 is one of the sturdiest kicks we’ve had the pleasure of testing. There’s enough give so that your foot doesn’t feel like it’s being suffocated, but enough support to eliminate any slippage.
The colorways have been nothing but heat, too. From the grey and gold version pictured here—which LeBron wore on opening night when the Cavs received their championship rings—to the black and red Ohio State-themed Soldiers that were turned into cleats for the Buckeyes’ matchup against Michigan, the Zoom Soldier 10 is the most versatile basketball shoe on the market right now.
