The Year’s Hottest Upcoming Nintendo Wii U Games
Nintendo Wii U sales might currently be lower than expected, but excitement is building for the 2013 release of the following games. (Check out what the Wii U system offers). From solid platformers to detailed first-person shooters, 2013 is shaping up to be the year for the Wii.
Aliens: Colonial Marines, Q1 2013
The exact release date for Aliens: Colonial Marines is unknown, but this hot title is expected to be released sometime in the next couple of months. We’re hoping to see it hit shelves in February. Sega is keeping mum about the exact delivery date, so don’t be surprised if this chapter in the Aliens saga is delivered later than expected.
Excited for this game yet? Well, you should be! This first-person shooter is going to deliver some sweet graphics and impressive motion-controlling options, proof that Nintendo’s newest console can compete with Sony and Microsoft by delivering high-quality shooters to serious gamers.
Dragon Quest X, Unknown 2013
Sometime this year, gamers are going to see a stunning update to a Nintendo classic. Not surprisingly, Dragon Quest X will release on both the old Wii console and the new one—which will give gamers incredible visuals and full GamePad integration. The game’s exclusive Wii U features will likely drive console sales.
Need for Speed Most Wanted, March 2013
The new and improved Need for Speed features an innovative new co-op mode and integrated touch-screen design options. Use the touch-screen pad to make quick changes to your car’s design, like messing with the colors. Strap in for a virtual ride, basking in the console’s updated graphics. This is a title that is sure to explore what the console can do, in terms of look and sound.
Injustice: Gods Among Us, April 2013
Using the GamePad controller, you are pitted against a bevy of enemies. If the enemy is your hero, be prepared to take down Batman or Green Lantern, or any of the good guys, outfitted in a purple suit and wearing white makeup. The Joker is an easy evil favorite, with his eerie laugh and comical fighting style. Attempt complicated combos, or simply punch your way to victory. This highly anticipated title will be released in full high-definition, and gamers can’t wait.
LEGO City: Undercover, March 2013
LEGO City: Undercover is released for the Nintendo Wii U, exclusively. LEGO is giving Nintendo exclusivity over the title, which is very unlike the brand. Typically, LEGO games are released to a bevy of platforms, including handhelds. This time, creators promise that only the Wii can carry this game. The GamePad truly brings LEGO City: Undercover to life. The main character actually uses his own version of the GamePad as a communicator and police tool. We’re really excited to see that LEGO has finally released a stand-alone game, one that’s not based on Harry Potter or Star Wars, although these titles have been fan favorites in recent years.
