The action in Non-Stop takes place during a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, revolving around the efforts of U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (Liam Neeson) to thwart terrorists threatening to kill passengers until they get what they want.
Through a series of cryptic text messages, Marks is informed of the terrorists' demand that the U.S. government transfer $150 million into an offshore account, warning that one passenger will be killed every 20 minutes until Marks secures the money. The clock is ticking, and Marks needs all his courage, training, and skills to protect the vulnerable passengers from the ruthless killers. His task is made even more challenging when the villains set him up to look like he is a terrorist himself.
The film also stars Julianne Moore and Nate Parker (Ain't Them Bodies Saints), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) and Scoot McNairy (12 Years a Slave).
Helming the picture is Jaume Collet-Serra, known for directing thrillers like 2009's Orphan. The screenwriting team includes John W. Richardson and Christopher Roach who both worked as producers for the television series Big Brother and Ruby, along with promising new writer Ryan Engle.
The trailer shows what appears to be another top-notch performance by Liam Neeson, who is very convincing in his role as a heroic air marshal.
Non-Stop takes off in theaters Feb. 28, 2014.
