TRAILER: Horror Thriller ‘Oculus’ Coming in April
Did the young Tim Russell kill his parents 10 years ago, or were their deaths caused by dark, supernatural forces? That is the mystery explored in the imaginative horror thriller Oculus.
Tim is convicted of killing his parents, and when he is released from protective custody, now in his 20s, he focuses on a fresh start to get on with his life. But his sister Kaylie’s continuing preoccupation with the tragedy, and her belief that their parents were killed by a malevolent force inside the glass of an antique mirror, lead the pair to investigate the matter. They are unprepared for the terrifying events that follow.
In the role of Tim Russell is rising star Brenton Thwaites, who has several prominent films in the works, including the highly anticipated Angelina Jolie flick, Maleficent. Co-starring with Thwaites is Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) as Kaylie. The film also features Katee Sackhoff (Riddick); Rory Cochrane (Argo); and James Lafferty of the series One Tree Hill.
Mike Flanagan (Absentia) directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Howard and Jeff Seidman.
Oculus opens in theaters nationwide April 11, 2014.
