Officially Under 255 Pounds, Eddy Lacy Collects his $55,000 Weight Loss Bonus
When Eddy Lacy signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks, his ability to earn $385,000 of it was tied to his weight. After struggling to keep his weight down during his time with the Green Bay Packers, Lacy will have seven weigh-ins with the Seahawks, both prior to and during the 2017 NFL season, and he’ll earn (or lose) $55,000 each time depending on whether he hits his weight target.
He’s off to a good start.
Eddie Lacy weighed in at 253 pounds today, two below the limit the Seahawks set: now collects $55,000 for it.

Lacy needed to come in at or under 255 pounds for the month of May, and when he checked in at the Seahawks facility today, he weighed 253 pounds, two pounds under his target. And thus my man is $55,000 dollars richer.
This is just the beginning of Lacy’s season-long fight to keep the weight off. He needs to have his weight down to 250 by June, keep it that way through August, then whittle it down to 245 for the regular season. If he can do all that, he will receive his full $5.5 million contract.
Here’s hoping Lacy hits all his weight goals and dominates the 2017 season.
