"I want to become a skate magician," says the most famous pro boarder on the planet—aka Paul Rodriguez—aka P-Rod. "I'm more interested in the type of moves that are pushing the limits, trying to do things that have never been done before."
The self-described technical skater fronts a goofy stance, but when he's on the board, his moves are expertly crafted.
STACK caught up with P-Rod at the 2010 U.S. Open of Surfing, an annual event in Huntington Beach, Calif. that brings together the best surfing, BMX and skate competitors from across the country.
Admire P-Rod's perfectly polished skills as he casually and masterfully rail rides in the following video—and hear his take on the evolution of skateboarding and the growing respect accorded to top boarders.
