‘Project CARS’ Release Date Pushed Back to April
Tell me if you’ve heard this before: Project CARS will not arriving as planned. That’s right, the much-delayed video game racer has been pushed back yet again. Developer Slightly Mad released a statement apologizing for the delay and saying they need more time to add a final layer of polish before unleashing the game to the world.
“Moving the release date was not an easy decision to make, as we know our fans are eager to get their hands-on on Project CARS,” said exec Ian Bell. “But we know that these extra days will allow us to provide the best game experience that our fans deserve. We assure you the wait will be worth it when the game does arrive early April.”
Slightly Mad only recently unveiled Career Mode in the game with a nearly five-minute trailer, which includes commentary. Check it out below! According to the clip, gamers will have the ability both to create and customize their own vehicles in the mode, and will progress by achieving goals like attaining endorsements, winning titles and receiving invitations. Overall, the game will also include fully-dynamic weather, pit stops and “the largest track roster of any recent racing game,” boasts the developer.
The game was originally set to hit shelves last November, but was pushed back to March. Now we’re all revved for a vague April arrival for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions. Not much has been said about the Wii U edition, but during an interview with Eurogamer late last year, creative director Andy Tudor said, “It’s not our goal to rush the Wii U version and have it not look as good as the other ones. We just want to make sure it’s of the same standard as all the other games. To do that, we just need a little more time.”
