Rap News Rundown: Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, T.I., Lil’ B
Chris Brown’s Crew Threatens Karrueche Tran Suitors
Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran parted ways several months ago when Brown revealed that he had got another woman pregnant. Nevertheless, it seems Tran still isn’t free to pursue other men.
The model posted a pic of herself online in a bikini, and when singer Marques Houston dared to compliment her physique, a member of Brown’s entourage threatened his life and posted a photo of weapons. “N****s sho no how to disrespect,” wrote Brown’s friend, whom TMZ claims is a gang member. “I don’t care if they not still together.”
Tran wasn’t impressed. She told the gossip site she was “bored and tired of this situation.” However, this isn’t the first time that Brown’s ex has irked him. A few weeks ago, after singer Tyrese posted a picture of Tran on his Instagram, Brown and his entourage threatened to break his legs.
Wiz Khalifa Arrested at L.A. Airport
Last week, Wiz Khalifa was arrested for riding around L.A. International Airport on a “hover board.” According to reports, the rapper was told by Customs and Border Protection officers to get off the scooter, but he defied the order. In videos of the incident, the officers can be heard telling him to “stop resisting,” while he repeatedly responded, “I’m not resisting, sir.”
Wiz took to Twitter to talk about the incident, writing, “All because I didn’t want to ditch the [technology] everyone will be using in the next 6 months. Do what you want kids.”
CPB rep Jaime Ruiz didn’t comment on the specific case, but said, “CPB officers are conducting their critical national security mission while facilitating the entry of legitimate travelers. An uncompliant passenger or any disruptive behavior could put many at risk in this highly secure area.”
T.I. Owes Uncle Sam More Than $4 Million
T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle are facing tax liens totaling more than $4 million. The New York Post report that Uncle Sam is seeking $1.4 million from the couple for 2012, and another $3.2 million from T.I alone for 2013. Neither the rapper nor his wife have responded to the reports. However, a rep for the music mogul released a brief statement saying, “Mr. Harris and his team are working with the appropriate parties to resolve this matter.”
Earlier this month, Harris tangled with former label signee Spodee, who recently left Hustle Gang in an attempt to achieve greater fame. Posting pics of DG Yola and Yung L.A, Tip warned the rapper against those “who thought going against the glory and good graces of the fam.”
Lil B Trying Out for Philadelphia 76er’s D-League
The Based God’s infamous history with the NBA hit new depths last season when he ‘cursed’ several A-list players, including the Houston Rockets’ James Harden, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and J.R. Smith. But it appears he has caught the attention of at least one Development League team—the Delaware 87ers. The team invited him via Twitter to try out on Sept. 19 at the New Castle Police Athletic League facility.
He responded, “Tryout invite accepted. See you there!! Philly here I come, thanks to your front office for keeping your word.”
Of course, if he doesn’t make the cut, the team may be opening themselves up to a curse.
