Redbox Game Week Offers Free Video Game Rentals
If you’re like us, you’ve rented dozens of movies from Redbox vending kiosks without even once trying out the company’s video game rental service. Redbox wants to change that, so they’re offering free game rentals through March 1. Stop by your local Redbox to check out everything from Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Twisted Metal.
To get in on the free offer, you first have to reserve your game of choice online at Redbox.com. Rent for one night free. Any additional nights are billed at the regular price of $2/night. Since buying most new games would set you back $50 or more, trying out a new release for a night or two to make sure it’s challenging enough is definitely worth the trouble.
As an added incentive for athletes, Redbox allows customers to return games to any box they choose, regardless of where they rented them. At an out-of-town tournament and need a game for your teammate’s PS3 back at the hotel room? Make a quick Redbox run, play the game throughout the tournament and return it when you get home.
Although Redbox has some of the year’s hottest new releases, its library of games is currently quite a bit smaller than rental services like GameFly and Blockbuster. Find out if one of these services would meet your needs better through our video game rental review.
