Reebok CrossFit Nano 3.0: An Ideal All-Around CrossFit Shoe
I’ve tried out many shoes during my 3-plus years participating in CrossFit.
I started with some of those silly toe shoes. They were fine at the time, but I knew I needed something more robust. Next, I went with some light minimals. Again, OK. I still like those shoes, but they’re not really ideal for the rigors of the sport. Reebok has been working with CrossFit athletes for a few years now, and it shows in their research and development. The CrossFit Nano 3.0 is the next iteration of a shoe that has consistently met the demands of CrossFit athletes over the years, and this one is the best yet.
A shoe needs to match the intensity and variety of CrossFit workouts. It has to be good with running, jumping, abrasion resistance on the outside, and weightlifting. There are more ideal shoes for some of those activities, but none for the combination.
The Nano 3.0 has a 4-mm heel-to-toe drop and a Dual Density platform for heel stabilization, so it works well for most weightlifting movements. One detail I especially like is that the toe box is roomy. Also, the outer rubber protects against the sole rips I’ve experienced with other shoes. I wouldn’t necessarily go on long runs in these, but for the typical 200- to 400-meter runs during workouts, they do the trick. They’re also comfortable, lightweight and stylish.
I happened to wear them to work today and was asked at lunch by a stranger, “What box do you go to?” (true story). So people know what’s up with the Nano. They’ve made a name for themselves and for good reason. If you’re on the fence about a CrossFit shoe, look no further. Men’s and women’s Reebok Nano 3.0’s can be found at Reebok.com.
