Release Date Announced for Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
In case you couldn’t tell from our write-up of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS,” we’ve been hooked on all things Zelda since the series began 25 years ago [read more about the anniversary here]. Ever since then, fans have found protagonist Link’s adventures to be absorbing and challenging. Now, we finally have a release date to look forward to for the latest incarnation, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Nintendo recently announced that the game will hit North American store shelves on Nov. 20.
Perhaps the most exciting thing about the latest installment is the degree of control players will have over Link’s movements. According to Nintendo, “The introduction of full motion controls enabled by Wii Motion Plus technology synchronizes player movements with Link’s actions while offering the most intuitive play control of any game in the series to date.” That means you can take on the role of Link more completely than ever before, combating enemies of Hyrule as if the Master Sword is actually in your hands.
Along with an enhanced combat system, the game will feature a multi-layered world, including the traditional dungeon environment and challenging puzzles that Zelda fans know and love. Did we mention that the visuals are better than ever? Take a look for yourself.
Given everything we’ve read about this upcoming blockbuster, it’ll come as no surprise if Skyward Sword is up for game of the year. Check back soon to see how the adventure unfolds for all of us at STACK Gaming.
