Watch the New ‘Resident Evil Revelations 2’ Trailer
At a Sony press conference last week, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations 2 is expected to arrive early in 2015, for PS3, PC, Xbox 360 and XBO. Check out the debut trailer below.
The new title will feature Claire Redfield as the main character and Moira Burton in a supporting role. Redfield was last featured as a main character in 2000’s Resident Evil Code: Veronica. Burton is the daughter of Barry Burton, who was introduced in the original Resident Evil. The two women will have their hands full battling the Afflicted, creatures that are reportedly more formidable than “regular” zombies, as the series attempts to shift focus from action back to survival horror.
Producer Michiteru Okabe told Gamesmaster Magazine that Resident Evil Revelations 2 will mix the old with the new. He said, “The project has been finding the line between listening to fan feedback and also doing something different to confound expectations. I want this to be both a game that doesn’t lose what made its predecessors great, while also bringing something new and exciting to the Resident Evil series. Achieving that lofty goal by bringing together past and future will make this an itchy-tasty prospect indeed.”
Players will also have more room to move around. During an interview with Famitsu, director Yasuhiro Anba said, “The first Resident Evil took place in a mansion, and Revelations took place on a cruise liner, so you have many stages that were set in closed locations. But Revelations 2 will take place on a lonely island located somewhere in the distant sea. We’d like to make it into something we can call ‘Resident Evil Island.”
