Robert De Niro Crime Thriller ‘Heist’ Coming Soon
Robert De Niro stars in the big screen crime thriller Heist with other popular actors, including the beautiful Kate Bosworth (Still Alice). The story is about a failed casino robbery. One of the thieves, a man named Vaughn, sets out to commit the crime to get money for his daughter’s medical treatment. When the botched robbery results in a shootout, Vaughn and his fellow perpetrator Cox escape on foot, hijack a bus and take the passengers hostage.
De Niro plays a feared gangster known as The Pope, who owns the casino. His maniacal right hand man, Dog, is soon in hot pursuit of Cox and Vaughn, as are law officers, setting off a high-speed chase. However, it turns out that things are not quite what they seem, and Vaughn may have another card up his sleeve.
Starring as Vaughn is actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Good Wife). Cox is played by Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy). Also starring are Morris Chestnut (Identity Thief), D.B. Sweeney (Two and a Half Men), Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6), and Mark-Paul Gosselaar (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation).
The film was directed by Scott Mann, whose best-known project was another imaginative action thriller, the 2009 Ving Rhames feature The Tournament. The screenplay was written by Stephen Cyrus Sepher (Stone), who also has a supporting role in the movie, and Max Adams of the upcoming Bruce Willis flick Precious Cargo.
De Niro will next be seen starring alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the biographical dramedy Joy, out Christmas Day.
Heist will be released on Nov. 13.
