Ronda Rousey Has Officially Started Training For a Rematch With Holly Holm
Last November, Ronda Rousey shockingly lost to Holly Holm in the type of fight from which one does not easily recover. Rousey’s face was battered and bruised—so much so that the UFC star hid her face from the throng of paparazzi that greeted her when she landed back at LAX after the fight. Rousey needed stitches in her lip, and a few of her teeth were knocked out. She told ESPN that her mouth was so badly damaged by Holm’s punches and kicks that she would not be able to eat normally again for three to six months, much less be ready to train.
But as we all know, Rousey is superhuman, and normal laws of recovery don’t apply to her. Just three months after the brutal fight, which she had called “an embarrassing representation of myself,” she was spotted at Glendale Fighting Club working out with trainer Edmond Tarverdyanf.
Rousey is nowhere near ready for a rematch with Holm, and no rematch has yet been scheduled. But seeing Rousey back in fight mode so soon after her devastating loss is a testament to her resolve, and the rematch should happen in 2016.
