Rule the Road in Need for Speed: The Run
EA Games once again expands its popular franchise, this time with the new Need for Speed: The Run. The 18th release in this racing series, The Run comes with a variety of new features, including multiplayer and Challenge modes. Although the game hasn’t been hailed as the best in the series, the latest release does offer satisfacti0n to those who prefer a backstory to their gaming.
The basic story line: Jackson “Jack” Rourke is a street racer fleeing for survival. His shady dealings have put him in grave danger. His criminal associates send him to an illegal street race called The Run. It’s a 3,000-mile journey that could earn him enough winnings to break free from the people pursuing him. With both cops and criminals trying to capture him, winning the race won’t be easy.
Although Need for Speed: The Run suffers from slow load times and a repetitive track design, the idea behind the game is original enough to make it appealing. Gamers willing to wait through a couple of minor glitches will be rewarded with a rich story, unique graphics and fantastic action. It’s a great, fast-paced game to play with your crew.
Buy the game online now for $60 (PS3 or Xbox 360) or $50 (Wii).
