Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl will star in the biographical action drama Rush, in theaters Sept. 20. Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) will play Formula 1 champion Niki Lauda, who challenges rival James Hunt (Hemsworth) just weeks after surviving a crash that nearly took his life. The bitter rivalry between brilliant Austrian Lauda and British playboy Hunt is the main focus of this action-packed, adrenaline-fueled movie.
Taking place during one of racing’s most exciting and glamorous eras, Rush documents the unforgettable 1976 Formula One season dominated by Lauda and Hunt. In a sport where a single mistake can be fatal, both men were ready to put everything on the line to become the world champion.
Rush explores Lauda’s and Hunt’s different styles on the track, and it also examines their personal lives. The gorgeous Olivia Wilde plays supermodel Suzy Miller, who was married to Hunt before famously being lured away by his close friend, Richard Burton. German actress Alexandra Maria Lara (The Reader) plays Lauda’s wife Marlene Knaus. The film also stars Natalie Dormer, best known for her role in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.
This sexy, thrilling film is directed by Academy Award winner Ron Howard, who has re-teamed with writer Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon). Check out the trailer at the bottom of this article.[youtube video=”bnr9TtTbg4Q” /]
