Draymond Green is in hot water after kicking Oklahoma City Thunder big man Steven Adams in the groin last night, the second time he’s made contact with Adams’ nether regions in the Western Conference Finals. As Green went up for a shot, Adams fouled him, and while Green flailed to help sell the call, which he even admitted to, there was no denying the kick to Adams’s groin that followed.

The debate today is about whether Green’s kick was intentional, and if the NBA will suspend him for a crucial Game 4. Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook was pretty forthcoming with his thoughts on the matter.

Green got wind of Westbrook’s comments at the Warriors shootaround this morning, and he responded by calling out Westbrook for being one of the group of NBA players who have turned flopping and selling calls into an art form. From the Mercury News:

“Russell said I did it on purpose, but he’s a part of the superstar group that started all this acting in the NBA, I think,” Green said. “So I sold the call. [Adams] grabbed me that way, I sold the call. So I don’t think it can be compared to a punch, my leg going in the air. It’s completely different.”

Of course, Green’s response was brought to Westbrook’s attention during the Thunder shootaround a few hours later, and Westbrook wasn’t buying any of what Green had to say.

Looks like a full blown beef. Game 4 can’t come soon enough, with or without Green.
