Salma Hayek and Alec Baldwin Join Forces in the Comedy Farce ‘Drunk Parents’
In the farcical comedy Drunk Parents, Salma Hayek and Alec Baldwin play the Teagartens, a couple who get into heaps of trouble in one drunken night after dropping their daughter off at college. The loving parents want to celebrate being alone for the first time in 18 years, but they get carried away. Their alcoholic binge leads to a bad decision, mistaken identity and kidnapping.
Directing the feature is Fred Wolf, best known for comedy franchises Joe Dirt and Grown Ups. Wolf also co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Gaulke (Ice Age: The Meltdown).
The Hollywood Reporter quoted Robert Ogden Barnum, one of the film’s producers, saying, “Alec and Salma are both incredibly charismatic, hilarious talents . . . paired together with this brilliant writing, audiences are going to love watching these two beautiful people take on all odds in Drunk Parents.”
This is not the first time the two actors have shared the screen. They previously worked together on the critically acclaimed NBC comedy series 30 Rock.
A release date has not yet been announced, but filming is set to begin in early 2016.
Following the success of Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation, Baldwin has at least two more films slated to debut by the end of the year, including the sports drama Concussion, with Will Smith, out Dec. 25, and the action flick Andron: The Black Labyrinth. Hayek was recently seen in the comedy feature Some Kind of Beautiful with Pierce Brosnan and Jessica Alba.
