NEW KICKS: Shaq Attaq ‘Brick City’
Reebok continues to push its classics, this time with a bold iteration of the popular Shaq Attaq. Dropping Nov. 29, this “Brick City” version pays homage to the Diesel’s rugged hometown of Newark, New Jersey. The nickname “Brick City” was given to Newark due to the vast amount of brick used in its architecture, as well as the strength of its residents.
The shoe features red and black accents with a hint of cement over a grey base. The release comes on the heels of another shoe that pays homage to a HOFer’s youth—the Jordan V Laneys, which pay tribute to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, Laney High School in North Carolina. Jordan Brand is also set to release a Jordan 1 “Laney” shoe Nov. 16.
O’Neal and Newark’s own Redman appeared in a commercial to salute their city and celebrate the release of the shoe. Check it out above.
The Brick City colorway will be available at retailers such as Foot Locker, Champs, Jimmy Jazz, Shoe Palace, and reebok.com for $160.
