WATCH: World’s Bravest Sideline Reporter Doesn’t Even Flinch When Kevin Durant Lets Out Primal Scream Behind Her
In this age of constant photobombing and close encounters with the basketball and fans trying to get on camera, the job of a sideline reporter can be one of the most difficult in the media industry. You must ignore your surroundings and focus on the camera in front of you and the words that are supposed to be coming out of your mouth. It’s not an easy task.
That’s why this performance by Leslie McCaslin, sideline reporter for Fox Sports Oklahoma, is so impressive. As she attempts to deliver her pre-game report on the Oklahoma City Thunder and how they must get better at defending the 3-point line as they prepare to take on the Dallas Mavericks, Kevin Durant steps behind her and lets out an incredibly intense and terrifying primal scream.
Any other human would have dropped the microphone and fled, or turned around and yelled, “HEY MAN, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I’M IN THE MIDDLE OF A LIVE BROADCAST—oh, it’s you Kevin, thank goodness.” But not McCaslin. Her focus never wavers, and she plows through the rest of her report as if she were lounging on a beach chair off the Pacific coast.
Here’s to you, Ms. McCaslin, for not having a full panic attack on live television.
