SNEAKER ALERT: Reebok Hip-Hop Appreciation Pack
The hip-hop community has long had a love for fresh sneakers, but it seems to have reached a fever pitch during the past year. Remember Kanye’s falling out with Nike and his subsequent jump to adidas? What about Drizzy’s deal with Jordan brand? For sneakerheads, the future looks bright. But as 2Pac said, “there ain’t nothing like the old school,” so it’s cool to see Reebok paying homage to the past with its Hip-Hop Appreciation Pack.
According to Reebok, both the Q96 and the Rail sport colorways inspired by hip-hop history. The Q96 colorway reminds us of albums by A Tribe Called Quest:
The Rail may pay homage to a classic, but the exact album(s) have us stumped. Perhaps it’s just a hip-hop-esque colorway? If you come across an album with similar art, definitely give us a shout on Twitter.
The Q96 is available now at retailers like Jimmy Jazz and Expressions for $115. The Rail releases Feb. 14, at retailers such as DTLR, Shiekh, Expressions and Reebok.com for $100.
Be sure to wake up early if you thirst for either model. Quantities are limited.
