Stephen Curry Will Officially Defend His 3-Point Contest Title at NBA All-Star Weekend
After taking home his first 3-Point Contest crown during last year’s All-Star Weekend in Brooklyn, when he dropped 27 points in the final round, Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ unguardable point guard has officially announced his willingness to defend his title.
“I’ve done it three straight years and finally won one,” Curry told Fox Sports. “Knowing I’ll be there already, I’ll probably suit up Saturday night and see if I can defend it.”
[youtube video=”0Nq13b7pn5c” /]This is unfortunate news for the rest of the field, since Curry is shooting a personal best 45 percent from deep this season, and he is the type of shooter who can knock down 10 in a row once he sees a couple go in. That’s exactly what happened in last year’s final round, as Curry drained 14 of his last 15 to propel himself to victory.
Curry’s father Del played for the Raptors from 1999 to 2002, and as a kid, Steph shot around in the Air Canada Centre. This tells us that he will notch another 3-point title in his belt as his dream season continues.
