Super Bowl Champ NY Giants DE Justin Tuck Serves Up Subway
During his post-Super Bowl whirlwind of greeting fans and talking to the press, yesterday, Feb. 9, New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck took the time to stop by a midtown NYC Subway, where he made and served free sandwiches to a hungry—and star-struck—lunch crowd. Tuck joined the Subway “Famous Fan” club last spring, along with New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram.
In celebration of Subway’s “FebruANY” month—all footlongs are $5 through Feb. 29—Tuck arrived in a suit and tie and proceeded to cheerfully greet customers and sign jerseys. He was joined by Subway’s Footlong Nation Mobile Tour.[brightcove video=”1444533507001″ /]
Tuck spoke about the vital role that healthy nutrition plays for him: “As an athlete, it’s very important to eat healthy. We look at our bodies kind of like high performance cars…that you don’t want to take for granted…you wanna put the right gasoline in them. [Eating right] is something that I think sets apart good athletes from great ones.” And for Tuck, that includes fueling right at Subway.
