New Trailer Released for ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’
A new trailer has arrived for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. Check it out below!
At the start of the clip, Megan Fox’s April O’Neil is taken hostage. The turtles pull off a rescue mission and make a clean getaway only to realize their identities have been compromised by O’Neil. “Do not say a word about this to anyone. If you do, we will find you,” says Leonardo (voiced by Johnny Knoxville.)
We also get a pretty good look at the film’s villain, Shredder, a samurai with armor that shoots knives, and the turtles’ teacher, Splinter (voiced by Tony Shalhoub). But there is one glaring omission: not a single slice of pizza is in sight.
But don’t fret. During a recent interview with MTV, Will Arnett, who plays cameraman Vernon Fenwick in the film, promised that many staples of the TV series will appear in the new movie, as director Jonathan Liebesman has found the delicate balance between the familiar and the new, so the film doesn’t feel dated. “There is time in the sewers. There is time in the lair. There’s all of it. I think we’ve done a really good job in staying true to the mythology and then telling a new story, telling a new version,” he said.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will open in theaters Aug. 8. It also stars Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, William Fichtner and Abby Elliott.
