That Time Peyton Manning Refused to Take His Shirt Off for a Team Photo
Peyton Manning has always had somewhat of a “dad bod.” If you flip through the dictionary and find that term, it’s accompanied by a photo of Manning wearing a tucked-in polo and a pair of khakis, smiling with two thumbs up. The dad bod is fine, but it’s not something you gloat about or show off. You acknowledge its existence and work out every once and while, but you rarely take your shirt off and expose it.

So when Manning’s Denver Broncos teammates attempted to pull a prank on him in 2013 by getting him to pose shirtless for a story on wide receiver Wes Welker, it failed miserably, because Manning absolutely refused to take his shirt off.

Welker, Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, all wearing nothing but football pants and shoulder pads, pleaded with Manning to join the photo, telling him to do it “for the team.” But Manning simply wouldn’t budge, faithfully obeying the No. 1 rule of Dad Bods: never remove your shirt.
“I go, ‘I don’t wear no shirt under my shoulder pads,'” Manning said. “I go, ‘I’m not doing it.'”

Manning finally relented, joining his receivers in full pads and jersey, making for one of the most ridiculous and hilarious photos ever taken in the NFL. The prank might not have worked, but the outcome was better. So let this be a lesson to all of you: don’t ever ask Peyton Manning to remove his shirt. It’s not gonna happen.
