Super Bowl Appearance: Jan. 26, 2003
I will forever love this commercial.
This is the ad that kicked off Reebok's "Office Linebacker" campaign.
Watching a fictional football linebacker punish hapless office workers with bone-crunching hits makes for incredible entertainment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this commercial was the most re-watched segment by TiVo users during Super Bowl XXXVII.
Linebacker Terry Tate is brought to life by actor Lester Speight.
Speight was an All-American linebacker at Morgan State University, and he was once clocked at a 4.3 in the 40-Yard Dash. You might also recognize him as the voice of August Cole in the Gears of War video game series.
The director and writer of the original ad, Rawson Marshall Thurber, has also remained involved with some major projects. He recently wrote and directed the movie Skyscraper starring Dwayne Johnson.
