The Chicago Bulls remodeled their team this off-season, acquiring two top free agents in Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo. Many analysts and fans thought that combining these two stars with Bulls forward and team leader Jimmy Butler would produce poor team chemistry. But so far, the Bulls have proved the doubters wrong.

The Bulls have started the 2016-17 season 3-0, the first time they have opened with three straight wins since 1996-97, when they went on to win the NBA championship.

In their latest matchup, against the Brooklyn Nets, the Bulls won decisively, 118-88. In doing so, they broke a franchise record by hitting the most 3-point shots in the first three games of the season (31). They are shooting 42.5 percent from deep, third best in the league.

Long-range shooting is a nice surprise for Bulls fans, but lane running shouldn’t be. Point guard Rondo is one of the league’s best passers, and Wade and Butler are great slashers. In Monday’s game, they showed off these skills by running a fast break to perfection. It was so perfect, they didn’t even have to dribble the basketball.

After a defensive rebound, the ball was passed to Rondo who passed to Wade at mid-court. Wade then threw a beautiful alley-oop to Butler, who finished with a slam.

It’s only the beginning of the season, but the Bulls look rejuvenated from last season. At 34 years of age, Wade is still finding ways to make defenders look silly.
