Gaming Update: ‘The Last Tinker,’ ‘Destiny,’ ‘GTA Online’ and ‘D4’
The Last Tinker Cancelled for Xbox One
The Last Tinker: City of Colors won’t be coming to the Xbox One after all, and you can blame the PlayStation 4. Developer Mimimi Productions announced they were not moving forward with the Xbox One version of the game after the PS4 port failed to sell well via Twitter.
“For now we’ve decided to stop working on the Xbox One version,” said the company in response to a follower’s request for an update on the XBO release. “Sales are too low for PS4, [and] Xbox One has significantly less units out there; we have to port ourselves [and there were] Sim-Ship-issues.”
City of Colors was released in May.
Bungie Releases Destiny Update 1.0.2
Bungie released a new update for Destiny last week. The latest patch (1.0.2) addresses Engrams, Strikes and the rotation of maps in the Crucible. Purple engrams will now result in a Legendary level item or higher, and blue engrams will produce a Rare quality item or better.
The developer pointed out that the patch will change Legendary engrams to Rare items. But don’t fret. Once you decode the engrams, they will produce the same results as before the patch.
New GTA Online Update Targets Last Team Standing Mode
Also last week, Rockstar Games released a new GTA Online update. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the long-awaited Heists update. That has been postponed indefinitely. This update targets Last Team Standing mode and adds two new weapons, three new vehicles (including two motorcycles), and fresh gear.
Rockstar also added the creator mode to LTS, meaning gamers can now create their own jobs by adding Rounds and/or adjusting the new Forced Weapon setting, which limits the type of weapons used.
D4 Never Coming to the PS4
D4 will remain an Xbox One exclusive for the time being. There is reason to believe it could eventually come to PC, but director Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro recently (via Twitter) killed all hopes of the title coming the PS4. When a fan asked about when the game would arrive on the Sony console, he replied, “Sorry Never.” Then, in a reply to another gamer, he added, “You can’t play D4 on PS4 forever. Sorry. Have to buy X1 or find kind friend.”
The game tells the story of David Young, a time traveling detective trying to piece together the mystery surrounding his wife’s death. It was released in mid-September. Thus far, sales have not been great, but Swery told a fan on Twitter that he was more disappointed in the lack of effort Microsoft put into promoting the game. “Not disappointed for sales. Really disappointed PR about D4. But aiming future now,” he wrote.
