Sci-Fi Thriller ‘The Signal’ Stars Brenton Thwaites and Laurence Fishburne
The Signal centers on a trio of student hackers from MIT. On a road trip through the American Southwest, they are lured by a rival hacker into a terrifying excursion to the middle of the desert. Following the clues of this computer genius, who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security flaws, the students are drawn to a creepy, isolated area which suddenly goes dark. When student Nic (Brenton Thwaites) regains consciousness, he faces a nightmarish situation, discovering that he and his classmates are being held in some sort of government facility. What does the genius hacker, who goes by the name Nomad, want with the students he’s been tracking, and do they have any hope of getting out alive?
The cast also features Laurence Fishburne, Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), Sarah Clarke (The Twilight Saga), Beau Knapp (Super 8) and Robert Longstreet (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints).
William Eubank, of House of the Rising Sun fame, directed the picture and wrote the screenplay with collaborators Carlyle Eubans and David Frigerio.
